colombo bombings!

just watched channel 4 news which gave a fuller bulletin than last night's sky report...

seems two tamil rebel prop planes dropped bombs on the sri lankan airforce base, just next to the main airport in colombo...

at least one person killed and many injured
they were targeting the airbase specifically because its military planes ae being used regularly during this current wave of very violent, almost civil war type, attacks and counter-attacks

a bit concerned we might not get to go afterall - we leave next sat 31st for paris then on to colombo on monday 2 april via doha with qatar airlines

now the 'funny' thing is... we might get as far as doha before we are told qatar will not fly to sri lanka...

i don't even remember where doha is!
i know we certainly won't have visas to hang around and explore there

what to do?!

the main airport was only temporarily closed, so maybe he's right and things will carry on regardless
